Bekan is a four-gaited stallion with equal gaits, an interesting pedigree and an exceptional colour. Bekan, named "Beckham" has much movement, always a clear tact and good speed in each gait. He is easy to ride, willing to work and is a pleasure to ride even for an unpracticed rider. Bekan´s colour is named PERLINO, not Albino. A Perlino is a doubly light bay. He inherited this particular gene D from his father Faldur frá Sydri-Gröf, a light buckskin. From his mother, a palomino, he inherited gene d. The gene combination Dd of all basic colours like chestnut, bay and black will be found in the same gene in a recessive state. Depending on the mare´s colour, chestnut, black or bay, the sired foal will have inherited the gene combination Dd and can only be a palomino, buckskin or dark bay. If Bekan sires a foal with a chestnut, black or bay mare the dominant gene d can only be passed on through Bekan which results in the gene combination Dd. Which colour the foal will have depends on the colour of the mare, but it can only be palomino, buckskin or dark bay. Any other colour is impossible. The same applies for greys, born as chestnuts, bays or blacks and pintos. Bekan will never be able to sire a chestnut! Bekan can only pass on his colour if he is paired up with doubly light mares e.g. palominos and buckskins. And the same goes for his particular eye colour.
